Kids Bikes
Looking for a new bike for your child? We have a full selection of bikes for children of all ages.
Starting with children ages three and under, we have balance bikes by Schwinn; the Tiger for boys and the Tigress for girls. The most interesting part of these balance bikes is that they don’t have pedals! Balance bikes are pedal-less to help aid children in developing balance skills. Some of our customers have even reported that their children have skipped training wheels all together as a result of using a balance bike!
We have boys and girls 12″ bikes, 16″ bikes, and 20″ bikes (single speed and geared) available in stock. We also have a full line of children’s helmets and other safety gear. Come see what we have to offer. Don’t forget, with the purchase of any bike (kids bikes included) we offer a full month of 10% discounts on any accessories.
Poison Ivy
Ok, so the poison ivy is pretty bad right now. It seems as though the early spring and warm weather have come with consequences. Most mountain bike trails in the area have some level of poison ivy, but some are worse than others. The second section of The River Trail (Corsetti’s) is absolutely covered with poison ivy in some sections, it is unavoidable. The first section of The River Trail has a few small areas of poison ivy but it’s more or less avoidable as long as you stay on the trail. There are a number of other areas that have poison ivy, too many to list. The best advice we can give you is try to prevent coming into contact with it all together.
How to avoid getting Poison Ivy
If you’re like most of us normal humans, you probably react to coming into contact with poison ivy, if you don’t well then you’re lucky. We’ve found the best way to avoid getting infected with poison ivy is to avoid contact all together. The best way we’ve found to avoid contact with poison ivy is to wear a high soccer style sock while riding (knee to above the knee high). After coming into contact with poison ivy, it’s best to wash everything (your bike, your clothes, socks, shoes, etc.) as the poisonous oils tend to hang out for a while on these types of surfaces.
If you think you’ve come into contact with poison ivy and you did not cover up, there’s still hope for you. Immediately after you finish riding, the sooner the better, you need to wash all potentially infected areas of your skin with cold water and a grease/oil cutting dish soap such as Dawn (do not dilute!). This does not work every time but it’s better than nothing and we believe it decreases the intensity of the reaction.
Downhillers, we have stuff for you.
We have Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 3C’s in stock along with a full selection of DH tubes. We also have full face helmets, body armor by POC, and DH clothing by Troy Lee, Dakine, and POC.
